What it is
Abrigo sells the Sageworks-lineage credit analysis module inside Sageworks Credit Risk, positioned so a lender can spread and analyze a proposed loan quickly rather than build the analysis by hand. The product page names financial spreading, global cash flow analysis and ratio calculation as the three things it automates. Intake runs through Abrigo Auto-Spreading, which extracts data from tax returns to produce a spread in minutes using AI, OCR and proprietary algorithms; the underlying page is still titled Electronic Tax Return Reader, which is a fair indication of how long that capability has been shipping. It also pulls centrally stored borrower data such as credit scores and existing debt instead of asking an analyst to re-key it. What comes out the other side is a standardized spread, calculated ratios, an automated credit memo, what-if scenarios, narrative analysis and real-time peer benchmarks. Covenant creation and tracking are not named in the spreading material. Risk rating, loan administration, document preparation, loan pricing and workflow are separate modules of the same credit risk suite. Abrigo itself was formed in 2019 out of Banker's Toolbox, MainStreet Technologies and Sageworks.
What it does
- Auto-Spreading extracts tax return data into a spread in minutes using AI and OCR
- Global cash flow analysis and ratio calculation named as core automation rather than add-ons
- Automated credit memos, documentation, what-if scenarios and narrative analysis generated off the spread
- Real-time peer benchmarks bundled with the analysis instead of sold as a separate data subscription
- Pulls stored borrower data such as credit scores and existing debt rather than re-keying it
Strengths
- Tax return intake is native rather than bolted on: extraction runs on AI, OCR and proprietary algorithms and produces a spread in minutes
- Global cash flow is a named built-in capability paired with ratio calculation, which is exactly the pairing a community credit shop needs and several competitors cannot name
- The spread feeds downstream artifacts directly, so the analyst ends up with a memo and scenarios rather than a finished template
- Real-time peer benchmarks come with the product instead of requiring a separate industry data contract
- Explicitly sold to community banks and credit unions of all sizes, which matches the sub-$10 billion buyer
Considerations
- The institution count is vendor-claimed and currently disagrees with itself on live pages: more than 2,400 financial institutions in 2026 press boilerplate against over 2,300 customers on the credit risk product page, and neither figure is spreading-specific
- Covenant creation and tracking appear nowhere in the spreading material, unlike Baker Hill, which advertises covenants created during the spread itself
- No pricing, no asset-size band and no deployment statement stronger than web-based is published, so the whole evaluation depends on a sales call
- Abrigo APX for Lending sits in the site navigation but its page returns a 404, and the 2026 ThinkBIG announcements describe agentic lending and AskAbrigo advances with no general-availability labeling, so treat the newest AI layer as unverified
- No page states that modules are sold individually, so a spreading-only purchase has to be negotiated rather than ordered
Best when
You want the spread, the global cash flow and the memo to come from one system and one contract.

Abrigo FAQ
Can you buy Abrigo spreading without the rest of the suite?
Nothing Abrigo publishes says the credit analysis module is sold on its own. The page structure implies modularity and the sales team may agree to it, but a spreading-only purchase is inferred rather than documented, unlike Baker Hill, which has two named banks that bought spreading as the entry point.
Does Abrigo handle global cash flow?
Yes, and it says so directly. The credit analysis page names financial spreading, global cash flow analysis and ratio calculation as the three functions the software automates, which is more than nCino or Moody's state on their equivalent pages.
How much does Abrigo cost?
Abrigo publishes no pricing, no asset-size band and no per-user figure. Budget for a quote-driven sales cycle.
